The title is not bait! Going into 2024, here is a quick exercise that anyone can do to prove astrology is “real” in a tangible way. The main purpose is to help anyone with major skepticism without ever having to argue. Using the western calendar, the three steps are as follows:
- Pick your favorite day of the week.
- Look up the “etymology” of that day’s name.
- Read the result.
When done properly, you should see that each day is named after a celestial body. If astrology is defined as the study of how celestial bodies influence our lives, then our calendar system is a prime example. Think of 9–5 workers thanking God it’s Friday, Garfield hating Mondays, Thanksgiving on Thursdays, or fans that gather for Superbowl Sunday. We’re subconsciously referring to a planet or celestial body along with said events. Influence like that is what keeps astrology relevant. Refusing to learn astrology in depth is natural, but it’d be naive to reject it altogether.
